9th Turkey Trot a smashing success!
The ninth annual Bedford Turkey Trot, a fun run/walk held Thanksgiving morning, was a resounding success, as close to 400 participants enjoyed their Turkey Day exercise and raised over $10,000 for the food pantry. Both participation and donations were dramatically higher than last year's results, the previous record. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the participants and volunteers, and especially race organizer Rich Hamilton. The Turkey Trot is our single biggest fundraiser, and provides important support to our mission of providing food to local people in need. Food Pantry closed on Thanksgiving
The Food Pantry will be closed for Thanksgiving this Thursday, and there will be no Community Dinner. Details about this week's special food distribution have been communicated to current clients. We wish all our clients and volunteers a lovely holiday!
Get your free flu shot here on Nov. 19!
The Bedford Board of Health will be conducting a special flu shot clinic in conjunction with the pantry and community dinner on Thursday, November 19 from 4:00 to 5:30. There is no charge to you for the flu shot. If you have health insurance, please have your card available. Bedford residency is not required.
Get ready for the 2015 Turkey Trot
Mark your calendars for the 2015 - 9th Annual Turkey Trot. Last year the fun run/walk brought in a record $6014 for the Bedford Community Table/Pantry, Inc.
On-line registration is open now at http://www.racesonline.com/events/9th-annual-bedford-turkey-trot-5k-fun-run-2-mile-walk. The first 150 applicants will receive a Turkey Trot T-Shirt compliments of Bedford Florists. Registration donation is $25 per person until November 24, and $30 on Race Day.
